Here for your consideration is a fully optioned 2005 Jeep liberty CRD that was sold new on west coast and I am the second owner. If you are viewing this listing you probably are familiar with these cars, know what you are looking for and are aware of their quirks..( Agricultural sounding engines etc.. offset by superb fuel economy and very good pulling power ) Ive owned the car approx 5 years and have kept it well serviced and had preventative maintenance done as I deemed necessary to keep it in good mechanical standing ready to drive anywhere. @ approx 120k miles upon on acquisition due to original owner not keeping the service records, I had the following carried out as part of 'preventative maintenance' :- new cam belt and tensioners, new water pump, all the 'critical' hoses such as the rear heater hoses and all fluids changed. @ approx 140k miles it had new brakes all round including the front rotors and new tires. At approx 150k miles, in preparation for a cross country trip, it had a full 'top end' overhaul with engine in situ using factory VM parts ..cylinder head was rebuilt to OEM standard with 16 new valves, rockers, I injector, ..additionally the lower end was inspected and new rod bearings ( old ones kept ..and show no wear.. all parts used were OEM jeep/VM parts) a new turbocharger and upgraded silicone intake hoses, along with a GDE 'ecotone' re-map on the ECU installed .. rear driveshaft was also rebuilt with new UJs and painted in chassis black. (was bare metal ..unprotected) A deep alloy pan was added to the transmission and all fluids changed.( basically a thorough 'going through' to keep it in top shape and extend life expectancy) Since that time it has been used sparingly (+/-12k miles covered in 2 yrs since) I purchased a bigger vehicle in 2016, due to the need for more carrying space...Ive grown to prefer it, and that is now my main vehicle.. Also it comes with all the original documents, including dealer sticker from new, with price and specs.. and the drivers handbook,still in its wallet. original tools and jack in situ and never used by myself.. For Ca buyers it is licenced until June 2019. and I will provide an new smog certificate if you require one. The 'official' fuel consumption figures are 22 city and 26 hwy.. this car now betters that with my driving .. averages +/- 25 - 26 mpg since its 'freshen up' with normal mix of rural and highway driving..(previously around 22 mpg) and will better 30mpg on freeway @ average traffic speeds (70-75 mph) Basically its now 'surplus to requirements' and gets little use.. so time to find a new owner seeking a 4x4....odometer currently @ approx 162k miles. It may go up by the time the listing has ended.. I still use it a couple of times per month, and will update it it goes above 164k. As would be expected with car of this age, it has a few minor dings, nicks and chips in the paint (which like most of the car remains original) but overall is very presentable and well above average.. also being in the friendly west coast climate it has never seen salted roads etc.. so is free of corrosion. clean sale needed, hence sold 'as is where is', but given their reputation for longevity, Id expect this car to serve its purpose for many more years to come. do check my feedback. please ONLY bid if you have thought it through, have funds in place for purchase and intend to follow through and complete..be aware I dont have much patience for fools or scammers. being sold as is where is.. 2005 Jeep liberty diesel 2.8 liter crd diesel engine. Blew a coolant line an overheated melting 2 pistons. I disassembled an do not have time for repair. All engine parts are included. Otherwise vehicle is in nice condition with only 105k miles. There is rust starting at rocker panels an bottom of doors. Tires are almost new. Spare tire holder is missing but spare is included. the front plastic bumper is missing.
